イギリスで２年間フリーランス翻訳家として活動していたRayです。
英語は、カナダとアメリカの義務教育を受けていて、日本語はバンクーバーの日本語学校で受けていたため、両方の言語でネイティブレベルです。
翻訳・通訳業界の相場や御客様から頂く依頼料に疑問を抱き、フリーランスに移行致しました。

仕事の依頼に関しては、博士論文、短編映画の台本、ギャラリーのパンフレット、絵本の翻訳、曲の歌詞の翻訳など様々な依頼を受けてきました。
言葉の流れ、そして、一番伝わりやすい表現を重視しています。

英文和訳と和文英訳の両方を行っています。

My name is Ray and I have been active in the UK as a freelance translator for 2 years.
As for my English, I have gone through public education in Canada and the United States, and my Japanese has been brushed up by my education at a Japanese language school, and through my private studies through reading the newspaper and novels.
I have continually felt that the translation/interpretation industry tends to overcharge clients for their inquiries, and felt the need to move over to freelance.

In addition to translation of business letters and documents, I have experience in translating children's books, essays (including a doctoral thesis), script for a short film, a gallery pamphlet and song lyrics.
I feel that in both fields, the flow of the words and the expression is just as important as the accuracy, and I have put emphasis on both elements.

I do both English-Japanese, as well as Japanese-English translation.
As for the rates, they will vary depending on the deadline, or the type of work.
